Fabrizio Romano has revealed how much Liverpool will get from the sale of Jarell Quansah.

The defender’s future is increasingly looking like it will be away from Liverpool with each passing day.

After enjoying a breakout 2023–24 campaign under Jurgen Klopp, the defender struggled for form last season.

His total appearances dropped from 31 to 25 across all competitions, and his number of starts fell to 13, fewer than the 17 league starts he managed the previous year.

This shift coincided with Arne Slot’s preference for the established central defensive pairing of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.

As a result, Quansah wants to leave the club in search of regular football.

The Bundesliga side’s renewed interest comes amid their defensive overhaul following the departure of Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich.

After agreeing to sell Florian Wirtz to Liverpool, they have stepped up their efforts to secure the services of Quansah this week.

Sky Sports Lyall Thomas revealed that Leverkusen are in advanced talks with Liverpool over the defender.

“Bayer Leverkusen are in advanced negotiations now with Liverpool for Jarell Quansah,” the journalist wrote.

“An agreement is understood to be close for the defender.”

Fabrizio Romano has provided even more update on the transfer, revealing that the 22-year-old and Leverkusen have verbally agreed on personal terms while also naming the amount the Bundesliga side are expected to pay for the defender.

“Jarell Quansah has verbally agreed personal terms with Bayer Leverkusen,” the journalist wrote.

“Bayer and Liverpool are closing in on permanent deal, understand it will be worth £30m plus add-ons for the defender.
